"If I'd have shut my mouth a bit more, maybe my bank balance would be a bit better."

Ginny Lemon famously had one of the most shocking exits ever during RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 2.

After landing in the bottom alongside Sister Sister, the queen refused to lip-sync against her friend, instead self-eliminating by walking off the stage leaving Sister to perform alone.

Following her exit, Ginny accused the show of using her "for a nice little non-binary storyline".

Now that time has passed since the series ended, Ginny admitted: "I have regrets because I didn't get as much work as some of the other girls because I was too honest blabbing my mouth."

They continued to Fubar Radio: "So, I suppose if I had just been a bit faker, and played the game a bit more, I'd be a lot more successful, but then I wouldn't be true to myself. If I'd have shut my mouth a bit more, maybe my bank balance would be a bit better.

"I wish I was in a better situation but because of lockdown and because of how it all went, I think that my anger was slightly misplaced. But also, I was just being honest about my experience."

Speaking about the editing of the series, Ginny continued: "I think they didn't really do me dirty. I think I was just a bit of a miserable b**ch."

Speaking to Digital Spy following her exit at the time, Ginny said why she felt she didn't get as much praise from the judges, including RuPaul and Michelle Visage.

"Maybe they just don't get the very British sense of humour, very working class," they said. "I'm from the Midlands. I'm a very particular type of British culture, and it may not be received as well in a different context.

"Drag Race is very much defined by a certain kind of drag and I was there to mess it up, f**k it up, and be punk. And that's what I did! I wasn't there for praise or glamour. I never went in as a contestant. I went in as an icon and I shall leave as an icon."

RuPaul's Drag Race UK airs on BBC Three in the UK and streams on WOW Presents Plus in the US.
