Jonny Clayton sealed the New South Wales Darts Masters last week in Wollongong but after having his confidence dented in the opening week, a different Ferret emerged thrashing James Wade in the final.

“Haupai (Puha) put me to bed. He showed me how to play darts, it was a bit of a confidence blow to be honest. I wasn’t playing really well before playing against him and he definitely put me to sleep,” said Clayton to the PDC.

“So last week was definitely a big confidence boost for myself that I really needed so coming into this week, it’s a different Ferret so hopefully we can go on and win this.”

He also had a word on the Oceanic qualifiers with Haupai Puha accounting for him in Townsville.

“They’ve proven why they are on that stage and there’s been some cracking games. Nerves on stage are big for some players but they seem to get over it by the second week and they’ve just proven to us what they can do.

As well as setting his stall out for Hamilton glory. “Couldn’t wish for anything better than to walk away with two titles. Hopefully The Ferret is back and I can show why I’m one of the best dart players in the world.”
